About The Buck Haven Lodge
6 acres of private land, located one mere mile from Benezette
Located only one mile from the town of Benezette, Buck Haven Lodge is a cabin that offers close proximity to Elk Country’s best attractions, but also boasts 6 private acres of wooded land for tenants to enjoy. Elk routinely move through the old-growth hemlock and pine, with masses of native ferns coloring the forest floor.
The newly renovated Buck Haven Lodge has two bedrooms, a full bath, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a cozy living room complete with a propane fire place. Whether you are interested in elk viewing, fishing, hunting, hiking or just experiencing the beauty of the Pennsylvania mountains, Buck Haven Lodge offers both convenience of location and enough privacy to enjoy your getaway.
Though the front porch is small, is has seating for two and provides a view of the mountains as well as a front-row seat to watch the activity at the Nuthatch Studio across the street, where local artists craft various pieces of art, including one-of-a-kind carvings from logs using various sized chainsaws. The more spacious back porch overlooks a fire pit area where guests can use the custom-built cooking surround to grill their favorite foods over the open fire or just relax and toast a marshmallow. Beyond the fire pit area is several acres of wooded land where the elk herd like to travel and the woodland birds flock, there is a swing fixed to the back deck that allows guests to sit back and watch our majestic wildlife move through their natural habitat.
There is a spacious, full bathroom with a commode, sink, and bathtub/shower combination. There are two bedrooms, each bedroom has a window looking out at the woods behind the cabin, a queen-sized bed and generous closet. For those looking to relax by a campfire and enjoy the mountain air, there is a custom-made fire ring with swinging grates for cooking over the fire.
